Explanation
逆に is used to present information that contrasts with what was previously stated. It signals a counterpoint or an opposite outcome, expectation, or situation. It can be placed at the start of a sentence or clause and is commonly used in comparing contexts, expectations vs. reality, or when correcting a common assumption.
彼は努力した。逆に、結果は思っていたより悪かった。
かれは どりょくした。ぎゃくに、けっかは おもっていたより わるかった。
He worked hard. On the contrary, the result was worse than he expected.
この地域は夏は雨が多い。逆に冬は晴れる日が多い。
