Explanation
一応 is used when doing something as a precaution or as a basic, minimal step, even if you’re not sure it will be necessary. It conveys a responsible, careful attitude and a sense of “for now, as a precaution.” It often precedes actions that are not absolutely required but are prudent, or statements that are meant to cover possible needs or expectations. It can soften a statement, implying that the action is not final or definitive, but a reasonable precaution in the situation.
