くれる

くれる is used when someone gives or does something for the speaker or someone in the speaker’s group. The giver is typically a person other than the speaker. It emphasizes gratitude and the benefit to the speaker. The basic construction is: Subject は/が 私に 物/ action を くれる. In everyday conversation, it often expresses acts of kindness or favors done for the speaker. It is commonly used with verbs in て-form to describe actions done for the speaker (Vてくれる). Politeness is controlled by the overall sentence form (plain vs. ます-form). When the giver is a friend, family, or someone close, くれる is natural; when the giver is the listener, other verbs like もらう/いただく are used from the listener’s perspective.
