Explanation
見える is used to talk about something becoming perceivable by the senses (visible) or to describe how something appears or seems to someone. It can describe objective visibility (something can be seen) or a subjective impression (it seems like something). When describing appearance or impression, the subject is the observer and the thing or person observed is what is perceived. Distinguish between what is actually visible (physical perception) and what is inferred or interpreted (appearance). The phrase 〜ように見える is used to express “it seems that …” or “it looks like …”. Both uses are common in daily conversation but the nuance differs: literal visibility vs. impression or inference.
山の上に雲が見える。
やまのうえにくもがみえる。
Clouds are visible above the mountain.
この窓から町がよく見える。
