好き

好き describes a liking or fondness for something. It functions like an i-adjective in a sentence and requires the subject marked with が (or は for contrast). You can say you like a person, a thing, or an activity by using ～が好きです/～が好きだ. When talking about activities you enjoy, you can use the verb in its dictionary form before のが好きです (e.g., 食べるのが好きです). To express not liking something, use 好きではありません/好きではない.
