Explanation

まえに marks something that happens before another action or event, or indicates a location that is in front of something. It is versatile for both timing and physical position. When used for time, the verb is in dictionary form (plain form) before まえに. For place, you attach の前に or まえに after the place noun to mean “in front of” that place.

食べるまえに手を洗いなさい。

たべるまえにてをあらいなさい。

Wash your hands before eating.

出かけるまえに荷物を準備する。

でかけるまえににもつをじゅんびする。

Prepare your things before leaving.

学校のまえに友達が待っている。
