Explanation
にして is used after a time word or noun to mark the point at which something is true or to express a surprising or extreme state. It can mean 'at the age of X,' 'as of X,' or 'considering X,' and in many cases implies a contrast or unexpectedness (especially in にしては). It is common in formal or literary contexts, as well as in everyday speech in certain expressions (such as にしては). Note that には often combines to express 'for/considering as a ...' rather than 'as a ...'.
二十歳にして彼は社長になった。
はたちにしてかれはしゃちょうになった。

三十にして初めて自分の店を開いた。
