Explanation
The ている form expresses actions or states that are ongoing or continuing now, or a resulting state from a past action. It’s used for both activities happening at the moment and for situations that have arisen from a previous event. The pattern is formed by taking the て-form of a verb and adding いる. Noun phrases can use でいる to describe a lasting state. Examples: 日本語を勉強している。 I am studying Japanese. 雨が降っている。 It is raining. 彼は結婚している。 He is married. 彼女は元気でいる。 She stays/continues to be healthy.
