Usage
この + Noun
Explanation
この is a demonstrative adjective used before a noun to refer to something close to the speaker. It directly modifies the noun it precedes and indicates “this [Noun].” It is used for singular items and cannot stand alone; you must attach it to a noun. It contrasts with その (that) and あの (that over there) for objects farther away. In sentences, この behaves like a regular adjective and agrees with the noun it modifies in number (singular) and, when needed, with particles and possessives around the noun.
