About this pattern
Explanation
ために expresses purpose or goal: the action that follows is done with a certain aim in mind. It answers the question ‘Why?’ with the intention behind an action. It is not used to talk about reasons or causes in the sense of “because of” unless you’re indicating a purpose for the action. Commonly used with verbs in the dictionary form, or with nouns/na-adjectives preceding のために.
