Explanation

ようにいう is used when you instruct or request someone to perform a certain action. The verb before ように言う is put in its plain form (dictionary form) for positive instructions or in ない form for requests not to do something. This construction emphasizes how the speaker wants the action to be carried out and can carry a sense of care or formality depending on tone. It is common in conversation, classroom settings, workplace instructions, or parental guidance. The form can also be adapted with different subjects by changing the object of the verb. Note that ように言う is distinct from simply saying something like 〜と言う; this pattern explicitly conveys the content of the instruction or request. When telling someone not to do something, you use the negative form: Vないように言う.

母は私に、早く家を出るように言った。

はははわたしに、はやくいえをでるようにいった。

先生は学生に、このレポートを明日までに提出するように言った。
