Explanation
に対して marks a stance, reaction, or comparison towards something. It is used to contrast or relate one thing to another, or to discuss how something relates to a particular situation, issue, or group. It often introduces a viewpoint, reaction, or assessment about the referenced topic. The particle は or other contrastive markers can follow に対して to emphasize the contrast. It can also link a noun or concept with its corresponding action or evaluation (e.g., how something is treated, responded to, or assessed). Typical contexts include debates, reactions to policies, responses to events, or evaluations of a subject in relation to another.
環境問題に対しては政府の対応が遅れている。
