Explanation
だけは is used when you want to sharply single out one element and treat it as an exception or as the only thing you emphasize. It often expresses resolve, consolation, or a demand linked to that one item, contrasting it with other things. It can convey “as for this one thing, I will/you should/they must…” and is frequently used with phrases like 今日はだけは, 私だけは, or この問題だけは. It can soften or strengthen a speaker’s stance depending on context, and can imply a limitation or commitment that others may not share.
